Learning the Black Key Groups on Piano

Learning the black key groups on piano is easy to do.  Notice all black key groups are either two and three black key note groups.

These groups repeat itself up and down your keyboard instrument.  Examine each of these two and three black note groups on the diagram keyboard below.

When I refer to the ‘bottom’ of the piano please go down to the left-hand
side of your instrument. Obviously, when I refer to the top of the piano please go all the way up to the right hand side of the piano. Using the diagram below, go to your keyboard and practice moving in both upward and downward directions.

The secret to learning the names of the piano key notes based on the 2 black note groups and 3 black note groups is as follows:

Tip #1:  Directly below each 2 black note group are the piano key note groups of C D E.

Tip #2:  Directly below each 3 black note group are the piano key note groups of F G A B.

   THESE 2 PATTERNS REPEAT UP AND DOWN THE ENTIRE PIANO KEYBOARD.  ONLY 7 PIANO KEY LETTER NAMES IN ALL!
