Polonaise in G Minor by Bach for PianoThe first piano performance of the Polonaise in G Minor by Bach in the video below reveals a faster than normal tempo on this Bach Polonaise but  I wanted to offer 2 entirely different interpretations of this piece.

After you have listened to this one be sure to scroll down to the next video and listen as well.  I feel that the second video most closely represents the musical style of the Baroque period because of the correct indicated phrasing, moderate tempo and little use of pedal.  What do you think?

The music history behind the Polonaise in G Minor is that it comes from the  Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach and refers to either of two notebooks that  Johann Sebastian Bach presented to his second wife Anna Magdalena.

Keyboard music in this notebook  includes the genres of minuets, rondeau, polonaises, chorales, sonatas, gavottes, marches, musettes and preludes as well as voice songs and arias.
